D344-RL REMOTE INDICATOR KIT.
Use the D344-RL Remote Indicator Kit with the D340 Series Duct Smoke Detector Housings. The D306 Indicator Plate’s LED indicates the detector’s status and condition, and has points to read and test the sensitivity voltage.

D344-RL Sensitivity Testing
Connect a standard volt‑ohm meter (VOM) to the D306 voltage monitor plugs to check the D340 Series sensitivity level after installation. The voltage measurement decreases as the signal level approaches alarm. This is caused by dust or dirt buildup in the detector head smoke chamber. Refer to the detector head’s installation instructions for proper voltage readings.
D344-RL Compatible Products
The D344‑RL Remote indicator plate is compatible with the following D340, D341, D342, and D343* Duct smoke detector housings, the D285DH Duct smoke detector, and the D296 and D297 Beam smoke detectors.

D344-RL Indicator plate mounting
Surface‑mount the plate on a single‑gang or on standard single wire‑mold box, or flush mount it. When using 18 AWG (ISO 0.75 mm2 ) wire, mount the plate ≤500 ft. (152 m) from the detector/housing. When
using 22 AWG (ISO 0.34 mm2 ) wire, mount the plate ≤200 ft. (61 m) from the detector/housing.
D344-RL Wiring considerations
A wiring harness (five‑wire) and test coil are supplied with the duct housing. The harness connects the power card in the D340/D341/D342 or D343 (legacy product) housing to the remote indicator plate. The supplied wiring harness and test coil are not used on the D296/D297 beam smoke detectors. It connects detector head to the power card of the duct housing.
